If you follow me on Instagram, you’ll know that I recently received an awesome VoxBox from Influenster – the ImPress Manicure from Broadway Nails!
I was so excited to give this product a try because I love having good-looking nails. Shellac is usually my go-to, but I don’t often have the time (or let’s be real here, the funds) to get a salon mani every 2 weeks. That’s where the #imPressManicure comes in.
The Product: I had no idea what to expect when I heard about this product, at first I actually thought that these were another version of those nail stickers that have become so popular these days. So I was slightly surprised to find out they were actually fake (plastic) nails. I received some awesome prints, including pink cheetah and zebra, and the package suggests you clean your nails and lay out all of the nails before application.
The Verdict: Application really is as easy as it says, and I thought they actually looked quite nice to wear. The prints I received were a little ‘out there’ for my taste (but they’d be so cute as an accent nail!), but I can see how this would be a must-have product for those days/nights when you spontaneously decide to hit the town.
I received these products complimentary from Influenster for testing purposes.
Sorry guys, this post is for the ladies today.
I’ve been inspired to write this post for the past few months, but in an effort to curb my addiction to everything in Sephora, I’ve put off writing it. I’m not a makeup artist by any means, but I AM a Sephora VIB (the second level of the Beauty Insider club, is this cool or embarrassing? I’m not sure) and I have to say that I sure know my way around a makeup bag. But if this is true… I shouldn’t have a mini panic attack every time I take an overnight trip and think I forgot my supplies, right? Wrong! I hate to say it, but even if the people I’m travelling with are willing to share their products with me, their collections are severely lacking, but by no fault of their own. Over the countless hours I’ve spent in the mall or on Pinterest, I’ve made some pretty amazing discoveries in the cosmetics department, and now there are some less popular products that I just can’t live without! So check it out – the 5 beauty products you never knew you needed.
The fashion PR world was shaken up this week when the lingerie brand Aerie (an extension of American Eagle), launched their Aerie Real Campaign. A campaign that pledges not to retouch its models.
My first reaction to this campaign was excitement – I love a brand that steps out of the box, and kudos to Aerie for taking a leap of faith with this one. I was especially proud of the overly positive reaction to this campaign, it’s great to see so many people in support of advertisements using real women to sell its products. It restored my faith in humanity a little bit.
But, as usual, when I’m excited about something, I’m really excited, and I like to see what everyone else in the industry is saying too. So I was disappointed to see some of the comments by ‘industry professionals’ posted on the campaign’s story on AdWeek.
